Fokker Next Gen is a Dutch aerospace company developing a new generation of sustainable commercial aircraft designed to make zero-emission regional flying achievable.

Fokker Next Gen is working to bring the Fokker name into the next era of aviation by developing eco-friendly commercial aircraft powered by renewable energy sources. The company’s core mission is to make green aviation accessible by designing and building a new aircraft from scratch, with liquid hydrogen at the centre of its technology platform. Its target aircraft is intended to support regional and short-to-medium-haul routes, with an ambition to fly up to approximately 2,500 km without CO₂ emissions.

The company’s activities span the full aircraft development pathway: conceptual design, hydrogen storage and distribution systems, propulsion integration, simulation, ground testing, and future manufacturing planning. Fokker Next Gen is developing a beyond-state-of-the-art liquid hydrogen storage and distribution system, alongside hydrogen combustion engine integration and other technologies intended to help the aircraft fit into future airline operations. The company is also involved in hydrogen testing work through the HOT project, which focuses on developing and validating knowledge around hydrogen fuel systems for aircraft applications.

Fokker Next Gen works closely with engine and technology partners, airlines, research institutions, and regional stakeholders. Its collaborations include airline advisory activity, such as engagement with airBaltic and ASL Aviation Holdings, as well as partnerships in the Northern Netherlands exploring the potential establishment of a hydrogen aircraft plant, assembly activity, and related ecosystem development. The company is listed by NAG in the Aircraft Manufacturing segment and is positioned within the Dutch aerospace and sustainable aviation ecosystem.
